How to Complete the Nomination Form

To begin the nomination procedure, simply follow the AAES Award Guide to select the appropriate award that best suits your nominee. Eligibility information may vary with each award. The nomination form is standard for all the awards. Simply mark the appropriate award and complete the required information.

All nominations must be submitted in conjunction with a voting member society of the AAES.  The President of the member society will be asked to confirm that society’s  support of the nomination.  Only the Kenneth Andrew Roe award recipient receives limited travel support.  AAES doe not provide travel support for other award recipients.  All award recipients must attend the awards banquet in Washington DC.

A separate form must be completed for each nomination/achievement. If more than one candidate is nominated for the same achievement, sections 1-3 should be completed on a separate form for each individual and submitted with a one- to two-page summary of accomplishments that details each candidate’s involvement.

The nomination forms must be typewritten in English.

In addition to the nomination form and a summary of accomplishments, at least two supporting letters must accompany the nomination, as well as the candidate’s curriculum vitae. Though not required, you may also choose to submit the candidate’s bibliographical listing.

The nominator is responsible for soliciting support letters and ensuring that the letters are submitted to AAES through the voting member society by the submission deadline. Supporting letters may be addressed to the nominator or the committee chair and forwarded to the AAES Awards Office. [Note: nominations without supporting letters will not be considered. Supporting letters may accompany the nomination form or may be sent separately, however all components of the nomination must be received by December 31.

Highly competitive nominations from the most recent two years also will be considered. AAES will notify the original nominator through the member society that the nomination will be eligible and encourage the submission of updated material.
